Canned Food Drive / Shred Event / Movie Night 

On Friday, November 18, we held our fourth Canned Food Drive/Shred Event in conjunction with the Shred-it company. Present to help at the event were Palm Springs police officers, our Explorers and department volunteers.

This was the first time we ran this event in conjunction with our Movie Night.  We showed the movie "Finding Dory" and about 300 people stayed to watch the movie.

Many vehicles stopped at the event to shred about 2,000 pounds of material. We collected 8 large boxes of canned goods, which were donated to the Iglesia Nueva Vida Church on Drew Way. Special thanks to the Shred-it company who donated their services for this very successful event!

Stuff-A-Cruiser 2016

On December 10th, the Palm Springs police department held its sixth annual “Stuff-A-Cruiser” toy drive at the ballfields next to the police department. There were over 1,500 people in attendance, all of whom thoroughly enjoyed the day’s events. Through the work of several department members, and with the assistance of local businesses, we were able to raise over $8,000 in cash donations as well as hundreds of toys to run the event and to donate to the “Adopt A Family” organization. These items were donated to children in our area so they could receive something for the holidays.

The community’s support for this event was a key ingredient to its success. Support for the event provided bounce houses, face painting, dunk tanks and photographs with Santa Claus. The Palm Springs police department is truly proud of the work of its staff and the community and how well we all represent our community.

Great American Clean-Up

On Saturday, April 16, 2016 the Palm Springs Police Department, the Village of Palm Springs, in conjunction with Republic Services, Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, Inc. and the Solid Waste Authority hosted the 2016 Great American Cleanup. In addition to Sago Park, we expanded our activities to include some local roadway and canal clean up (for the bigger boys and girls). Our council members, police officers and Explorers also assisted in the event. 

Participants received a free t-shirt, supplies needed for the clean-up, as well as some great barbeque and refreshments for the efforts. Thank you to all that helped in this worthwhile effort!
