Youth Basketball

Youth Basketball Registration to Begin Saturday, May 8, 2021.

The Village of Palm Springs Parks and Recreation Department will be bringing back its summer youth basketball program in 2021.  The program will be a short season with practice and play beginning in June and the league will run thru the first week of August.

Program ages are 8 to 10, 11 to 13 and 14 to 17 years old.  Space is limited in each age division.  Each participant will get a reversible game jersey.  

Individual registration begins Saturday, May 8.  Registration will be held using the Village of Palm Springs online registration site or you may register in person between the hours of 8:30 to 4:30 pm Monday thru Friday beginning May 10.  

Program Details

The basketball program is open to male and female participants ages 8-17. Registration begins May 8. The league will run June thru first week of July.

The program is divided into leagues that are based on age and ability:

  • Ages 8-10
  • Ages 11 to 13
  • Ages 14 to 17

Game and Practice Schedules

Games will be held one night during the week and on Saturday's.  Specific days for each league will be determined and announced on the league's FAQ sheet.

Evaluations are held to distribute the talent throughout the leagues to create as much balance as possible.

The league follows the rules for the Florida High School Activities Association (FHSAA) with local exceptions. Volunteer coaches are always needed and are required to pass a background check and pass the NAYS coach certification program or similar coaches certification course.
