Existing Conditions:

GIS data shows swales along the north and south sides of Lakewood Road. LiDAR data shows higher elevations to the east at the intersection with Coconut Road, and higher elevations to the west at the intersection with Gulfstream Road. Based on field observations of the area, a culvert located midway between the two cross streets provides conveyance under Lakewood Road drainage ditch which runs north-south between Lakewood Road and Canal Road.

No existing permits were found in this area.

Recommended Improvements:

Restoration of swale grades along the north side of Lakewood Road is recommended to direct surface water into the existing ditch. Cleaning and maintaining the ditch is necessary to preserve flow capacity and facilitate conveyance of collected runoff to the LWDD L-11 Canal.

Regulatory Approvals:

The proposed system will outfall to LWDD Canal L-11 through previously installed components. Additional regulatory approval should not be required for the proposed improvements.

Project Cost:

The estimated cost of proposed improvements is $70,000. A detailed Opinion of Probable Construction Cost and Schematic Design drawing are attached.
