Youth Baseball
Program Details
The baseball program is open to male and female participants ages 5-16, age determined by April 30. Registration begins in January. Season begins with practice beginning in early February and continues until the second Saturday in March when games start.

The program fee includes uniform shirt, socks, hat, equipment, officials, fields, and lights. Batting helmets, bats, and baseball pants are mandatory. The baseball league does include travel locally.

The program is divided into leagues that are based on age and ability:
  • Shetland (T-Ball) - Ages 5-6
  • Pinto (Coach Pitch) - Ages 7-8
  • Mustang - Ages 9-10
  • Bronco - Ages 11-12
  • Pony - Ages 13-14
  • Colt - Ages 15-16

Evaluations are held to distribute the talent throughout the leagues to create as much balance as possible. The league follows Pony League rules with local exceptions. Volunteer coaches are always needed and are required to pass a background check and pass the NYSCA or similar coaches certification course.

Smart Start Baseball
Program is open to male and female participants ages 3-4; age is determined as of September 1.Registration follows the dates for the respective youth sports. The start smart program is intended as an introduction to youth sports for the parent and child.

The program is designed for parent and child. There are no games or teams. The program will encourage proper techniques, fitness, and fun. The program leader will demonstrate various skills and parent and child will then execute the skills at each child’s ability. Emphasis is placed on individual progress in each of the skills. The program is divided into one hour a week sessions.

This program will try and develop the child’s skill level and interest in sports. It is also intended to introduce parents to coaching youth and the issues associated with coaching young players. The start smart program is not intended for highly skilled players.
